When Alecia Mostert moved to Melbourne, she didn’t expect to make connections so quickly. In her first year of study, she and her classmates had the exclusive opportunity to design and collaborate with industry leaders, DENFAIR. Here's how her work became front and centre.
Look at the wall in front of you: is it dark or bright? Textured or flat? A coloursmith could have been the one who decided what that wall in your room looks like. Clare Scanlan from Scanlan & Makers is someone who does exactly that, mixing colours and painting walls to create the perfect base to decorate. Here's what happened when she invited our Interior Design students to her Collingwood studio.
When it comes to interior design and styling, there's nothing more thrilling than bringing a space to life. For Interior Design student Jacinta Ashby, her hunger for industry experience led her to pitch a concept to Peel Street Festival: she would style their two artist green rooms, and hone her skills along the way.
While studying interior design at Collarts in 2015, Sarah Shinners saw that Simone Haag was doing a talk at Modern Times. She went along and knew immediately that she wanted to be a part of Simone’s world. Fast forward three years and Sarah is kicking career goals as Simone Haag’s Design Manager. Sarah says her success is due to hard work, passion, and always saying "yes."
